Saulsbury and the Education Foundation of Odessa partner to foster a love of reading
Saulsbury and the Education Foundation of Odessa are preserving their legacy of successful partnerships by participating in the foundation’s Bookworms Literacy Program. Once a month, Saulsbury volunteers will visit Hays STEAM Academy to read a favorite children’s book to the prekindergarten and kindergarten students.
Since joining the program in October 2018, ten Saulsbury employees have visited Hays STEAM Academy to read and celebrate literacy with the students. After each visit, the volunteers distribute the same book to the students to build their home libraries and promote family reading. Kevin Henkes’ “Chrysanthemum” and Don Freeman’s “Corduroy.”
Saulsbury is delighted to take part in helping the Education Foundation of Odessa foster a love of reading in these youngsters. To find out how you can support the foundation’s mission or volunteer, please visit their website here.
